At long last we've started cataloging TV's longest
running magazine. This list is for the digest-sized magazine that started
in 1953 and the current full size magazine format.
The problem: the bulk of the TV Guides have yet to
be cataloged. Those include our older issues, the 1960's and 1970's,
as well as the 1980's. Only about a dozen boxes out of at least 60
boxes (more like 100!) have been cataloged. Don't know when we can
get back into cataloging the rest; magazines, books, fanzines, etc. are currently
coming in faster than we can handle them.
The TV Guides are in basically fine condition unless
otherwise specified. TV Guides tended to get used more than the average
magazine, and even the printing process left few in mint condition at the
newsstand; covers tended to wrinkle a little bit before they got into anyone's
hand in the first place.
We've not checked to see if anyone has marked the
listings for shows they were going to watch. That seemed to be very
common in older issues. And sometimes pages are missing that we don't
catch. Rare as that is, please let us know if you get one from us
so we can properly refund you.
And, of course, postage is not included!
We had help cataloging the initial batch (Hi, Steve!)
by a friend who probably put in more detail than we would. As we catalog
more and more of the digest-size issues, don't be surprized if we are less
wordy.
The number in brackets, such as [TV3], indicates which
box the issue can be found in. Please include that in your order! Thanks!
NOTE: There was a period of time when TV Guide misnumbered issues for
a number of years before waking up and correcting their mistake. Numbers
in quotation marks, such as "#575," are from this bad period of numbering.
